In the Summer of 2012, an estimated 15 million people witnessed the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay live on its journey across the UK. Members of the Pioneer Venue Solutions team were proud to play a key role in the delivery of this logistically complex event.
Prior to setting up Pioneer Venue Solutions, Dan Schofield, was employed by LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games) as Advance Project Manager with responsibility for the planning and delivery of the Relay across the North Region of the Relay.
Throughout the planning stages, Dan had set the aspiration that the North Region be the brightest and loudest section of the Relay and this is the brief he delivered in to the Local Authorities, Police Forces, Highways Agencies and other Stakeholders he would form close working relationships with as they developed the Route and all the activations in the North Region. With all of the partners support, and alongside the amazing LOCOG Torch Relay team (and in particular Team North!), the aspirations Dan set for the North region were met.
Building on a decade of Event Management experience, and under the guidance and tutelage of Steve Doran, Dan utilised his skillsets to build relationships and work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop over 300 Event Moments, and 2,600 miles of the Relay across the North Region.
As a brand new company we are still building our portfolio of clients, projects and case studies. Prior to PVS being formed our team of Industry experts have worked on a wide variety of projects around the world and it is our work on these projects, amongst many others, that have helped to build our skillsets and knowledge base and are what allow us to deliver the services we do today as Pioneer Venue Solutions.
